WATERS WE FISH
The Bitterroot River
"Dry Fly Capital of Montana"
The Bitterroot River is a north flowing freestone river starting just south of Darby, Montana and flows into the Clark Fork River in Missoula, Montana. With over 75 miles of fishable water, the Bitterroot offers world class fishing from March to November. The cherry on top is that each month the Bitterroot flourishes with multiple dry fly hatches that even the most experienced anglers can't get enough of. Being Log Jam Outfitters home water, our guides are finely tuned to giving you some of the top fly fishing experiences on the river.
The Missouri River
"The Mighty Mo"
This Missouri River is a name heard around the world and with a reputation of high fish count and large fish, it's a destination river for any fly fisherman or women. Log Jam Outfitters targets the 35 mile section of "tail water" below Holter Dam, that offers some of the best trout fishing in the country. From technical nymphing, dry fishing, and streamer fishing, We highly recommend experiencing one of the finest tail waters in the country with our team. Lodging opportunities located in Wolf Creek, Criag, Cascade, and Helena.
The Clark Fork River
The Clark Fork River is the largest river out of the Missoula area due to multiple rivers and tributaries flowing into it. We like to break up the river into the "Upper Clark Fork" and the "Lower Clark Fork". The Upper is a wondering river through meadows with a low fish count, but high-quality fish. The views and the size of trout are some of the best in the area. The lower section of the Clark Fork offers some spectacular dry fly fishing on big water. Looking for pods of fish on the Lower Clark Fork is one of our favorites due to the technicality and pound for pound some of the hardest fighting fishing in Montana.
Secret Spots!
Don't forget to set up a secret spot guided trip. It's been a mission of ours at Log Jam Outfitters to find the little nooks and crannies where trophy trout live. It's important to Log Jam Outfitters to keep locations disclosed, so anglers can experience these amazing fish.
